Another Day in Alaska, Nebraska
That's correct blogsters, there's more snow in Nebraska than Alaska--or so it seems. I'm really tired of the endless snow, which prohibits cars from adequately seeing around corners when/if they decide to man-up and go-for-it on that treacherous right turn ahead. This was a typical day in the world of music here in the snowy Midwest, so here goes:
1.) Started copying out a new tune this morning, but got distracted by chores and overall fatigue. Perhaps I'll get back to it later?
2.) Took Sam to school today (early) because he can't drive his car--he had a car accident last week (fortunately he's o.k.). I spoke with our car insurance agent today regarding the ramifications of the accident.
3.) Went out to eat--pretty tasty, but it was over quite fast. I do remember the bacon being quite good.
4.) Went to the bank to deposit money--you've gotta deposit money because Quarterly Taxes are due on the 15th--Whoopee!
5.) Received an email from a magazine that was going to publish something I'd prepared for them and paid for, apparently lost my materials---for the 2nd time. Could I please send them an MP3 of the music they lost ASAP? I stopped by the guy's office who mastered my CD in Omaha hoping that he would be able to send them out a quick MP3--he's not there. Then I talk to my attorney about it and he emails the guy reminding him that we initially sent them 3 CD's--maybe they can find one of them. I'm telling you, this business isn't for everyone.
6.) Went to xerox/copy a new tune for my pending gig on Thursday with my band--if only I had a secretary.
7.) Called the members of my band reminding them about Thursday's gig--otherwise someone may not show, which would be a bummer for yours truly.
8.) Went to pick up Sam's tenor sax, which was repaired--he needs it for a 4 pm rehearsal.
9.) Went to my storage container and picked up a drum and stand that one of my students may want to purchase--I hope he buys it for the hassle of me going to get it for him. BTW, he decided not to buy it after all--it figures.
10.) One of my vocal students needs to reschedule her lesson...again. This is getting to be a bad habit.
11.) I've just rescheduled the lesson time of one of my drum students. Fortunately, I was able to accommodate him and all is well.
12.) I'm trying to find time to practice, but interruptions keep happening. And, I still haven't got back to the copying of my newest tune. Oh well, for now.
13.) Soon my 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm drum students will arrive for their lessons--abit of continuity in a fractured day.
14. By 6:00 pm, I'll have to pick Sam up from his rehearsal and hurry home to eat before my 7:00 pm lesson.
15.) Lessons end tonight at 9:00 pm. I'll have phone calls and emails to answer when I'm done teaching.
16. If I have enough energy, post 9 pm, I'll still try to practice and/or copy music--only time will tell.
I'm sure something else will come up such as folding laundry or trying to exercise for another 15 minutes if I don't fall asleep first.
Such is life in Alaska, Nebraska, 1/11/10. And how was your day?
